Sovereign Minds SPEAR Oratory Prize Competition Rules

Speaker must be between the age of 16–18 at the time of entering the competition.
Speeches must be entirely in English.
Each speech must be based on 1 of the 10 SPEARs.
Speeches must be the speaker’s own words and work and reflect the speaker’s own approach to the chosen SPEAR.
Speeches must not contain any profanity.
Each person can only make one speech per event.
Speaker must not have any slides, cue cards or reading props.
Speeches must strictly adhere to the following time limits. Speeches will be stopped if they go over the allocated time:
Qualifiers: 2–3 Minutes
Quarter-finals: 5 Minutes
Semi-finals: 7 Minutes
Finals: 10 Minutes
Speakers do not need to speak about the same SPEAR topic for all 4 stages of the competition. However, each speech must focus on only 1 SPEAR.
